STEMersion 2019

I was invited to a great opportunity this summer. 2 weeks of guest speakers and factory tours from Tri-County companies around Charleston, SC. We got see the production of fuel injectors at BOSCH, cars rolling around on conveyors through the factory at VOLVO and the building of the 787 Dreamliner planes at the massive BOEING facility, just to name a few. Guest speakers from Google, Citadel STEM Center, ECPI and the the local city chambers of commerce. The information will be critical in helping our students and young adults work toward and find careers in the local manufacturing. I had no idea of how many jobs go unfilled because there simply are not enough skilled applicants. Now I can help my students prepare for these now in my classroom by teaching them the skills they need.

This is an awesome opportunity, it will be held again next year so any teacher in the area apply when you see its open.
